LARPing, or Live Action Role Playing, is an interactive, hands-on take of role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons. The difference is that instead of playing inside at a table, you are taking your students outside, to physically act out their fantasy adventures by having elaborate (and safe) battles on a playing field. LARPing provides a fun and safe environment for your students to make use of all of the benefits of classic role-playing games, such as team building and exploring their creativity, with the addition of being a physically active game. Participants will delve into the world of LARPing to get a grasp on what it really entails, learn the benefits of implementing it into their programs, as well as how to successfully do so. We will have a hands-on activity to demonstrate how an average LARPing battle or duel would play out!
